Neuropsychology and Addiction

Neuropsychology is a branch of psychology. It's concerned with how a person's cognition and geste are related to the brain and the rest of the nervous system. Professionals in this branch of psychology constantly concentrate on how injuries or disorders of the brain affect cognitive and behavioral functions.

Addiction is a neuropsychological disorder characterized by a patient and violent appetite to engage in certain actions, and frequent usage of a drug, despite substantial damage and other negative consequences. Repeated drug use, again and again, alters brain function in ways that immortalize craving, and weakens self-control.
